Month Theme for March 2020: Tracking Mental and Physical Health

On the first Wednesday of each month we have a post with the month’s theme. The month theme is something to think about, journal about, include in your daily intentions, and/or be mindful of all month. It’s also a good topic for folks doing our Page Per Day Journaling.

This month I’m going to do something a little different from my usual Month Theme. For all of March I am going to track aspects of my physical and mental health to see if there are any correlations between my mood and how much sleep or exercise I get.

I’m going to track my mood, how much sleep I get each day, and the days I do qigong (which I have just recently gotten into and am really enjoying), strength exercises, and stretching. I don’t need to track cardio because I have a very active dog and I hike with her on forest trails for an hour every day.

I’m hoping to accomplish a couple of things by tracking these aspects of my life:

  1. Create a habit of doing qigong, stretching, and strength exercises regularly
  2. See if a lack of sleep and/or exercise affects my mood.

In the Month Review at the end of this month I will show my results!
