The upcoming 5 weeks will be the last truly productive month of this year (and this decade for that matter!). Once Thanksgiving hits, the holiday season will be in full swing with all its preparations and events. With all the end-of-the-year busy-ness, true productivity won’t return until at least the second week of January.
So make the next 5 weeks count! Look ahead in your planner and see what is coming up all the way through January. What can you do before Thanksgiving to prepare yourself for anything that’s happening between now and the new year?
Look at upcoming events for school and/ or work, family, social, volunteering: what do you need to do to get ready for these events?
What do you need to do to get ready for the holidays? Start preparing now to avoid a last-minute rush.
With all of this in mind, take a look at what is coming up for work and/ or school. The end of the year is such a busy time with projects, reports, exams, etc. See what your workload will be and start working on it early. Do your high-focus work that requires the most concentration now, before the distractions of the holidays start.
Now get realistic about what else you will be able to accomplish between now and the end of the year. Now might not be a good time to take on new or extra roles or tasks. Anything that is optional might be better off waiting until the holidays are over and things have settled down a bit.
Use these next 5 weeks to be as productive as you can, so you will be prepared when the busy end-of-the-year hits!
