On the first Wednesday of each month we have a post with the month’s theme. The month theme is something to think about, journal about, include in your daily intentions, and/or be mindful of all month. It’s also a good topic for folks doing our Page Per Day Challenge.
It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by large projects. Even breaking down the job into smaller action steps can feel intimidating to see the long list of tasks that need to be done before the project is completed.
When faced with an overwhelming job, instead of confronting the idea of finishing the entire thing, just think of something you can do to improve the situation.
For example, if you don’t have the time and/ or energy to clean out your entire garage, what would be an improvement? Maybe organizing your tools or labeling your storage bins so you can easily find what you need.
Doing anything at all will be an improvement, and after several small improvements you will start to see a real difference. Looking for improvements will help you chip away at large jobs in a manageable yet meaningful way. Maybe that progress will motivate you to do the entire job! Even if it doesn’t, every small improvement helps.
This month think of big jobs you’ve been putting off. Instead of trying to tackle the whole thing, what smaller tasks can you to do make an improvement?
How can you expand the improvement idea to your work/ school, relationships, and self-care?
The Month Theme comes out on the first Wednesday of each month. You can see all the month themes here.
