New series: Life Noted month review!

Welcome to the first post in our new series designed to help you do your Month Reviews in your Life Noted planner!

The Life Noted planner (in academic year or January-December formats) is designed to help you set, track, and evaluate your goals all year and incorporate your goal tasks into your everyday life. There are pages to help you do annual and monthly reviews and goal setting.

One of the things I love about the Life Noted planner is that the pages are not prescribed; there are no pre-set questions for you to fill out on the goals pages. This makes the planner very flexible, so you can use it in any way that best suits you.

But some people might like some guidance on what to write in those Assessment spaces each month.

So, I’m doing a series here on Quo Vadis blog to give you some ideas of what to write for your monthly reviews!

Every month when it’s time to do your Month Review in your Life Noted planner, I’ll have a new post to give you ideas on how to do the review.

Each month will have a new theme. You can pick the theme you like best and do that every month, or you can do the new theme each month, or choose the elements you like from each month’s theme to do your monthly review. Remember, this is all about you! Do what you find most useful.

This month I will start you off with a very basic month review. Look back through your planner pages for this month and ask yourself the following questions:

What went well this month?

Which goals did you complete this month? (Congratulate yourself! Celebrate your successes.)

Which goals still need work? What do you need to do to complete these goals? (Write these in the Priorities section below.)

What didn’t go so well this month?

What were some of your roadblocks this month? What can you do to get around these roadblocks?

What lessons did you learn this month?

Now that you have evaluated your month, decide what your Priorities will be for next month and write those into the Priorities section. Now write your Goals for the upcoming month based on these priorities, at the top of the Forecast page for next month. Next, break your Goals down into the Action steps you will complete each week in the upcoming month.

The Life Noted month review posts are on the Friday of the last week of that month in your Life Noted planner, right before the monthly review pages. These are not always the last Friday of each month; they are on the Friday of the week before the start of the new month. Follow along in your Life Noted planner and you’ll find that these posts come up just when you need them! They go up on a Friday so you have all weekend to do your month review.
