For the last five years, J. Herbin (now “Herbin”) has introduced a new 1670 ink over the summer. 1670 inks are known for their deep, rich colors and gold sheen.
This year, Herbin is introducing a new color and a new collection: Jacques Herbin 1798 Ink. The color chosen to inaugurated the collection is “Amethyste De L’Oural” – Ural Mountain Amethyst. It is a velvety purple, with a silver shimmer. Think – distant and unexplored mountains partially covered by a lustrous mist. I thought the colors evoked Nicholas Roerich’s mountain landscapes of the Himalayas.
The ink will not be available for sale until September 1, 2017. However, I have three (3) 10ml bottle of this new ink that I will be raffling off to Quo Vadis Blog readers!
