On the first Wednesday of each month we have a post with the month’s theme. The month theme is something to think about, journal about, and be mindful of all month.
This month’s theme is: Communication
Today is the start of InCoWriMo, International Correspondence Writing Month! The idea is to write a snail-mail letter to someone every day this month.
This got me thinking about how our methods of communication have changed over the years. Usually now we communicate often and quickly, but with much less content. When was the last time you wrote someone a multi-page letter by hand? Or had a phone conversation with someone for more than an hour?
Even in day to day communications, are you sure the message you intended to send is the one the person received?
“The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion it has taken place.” –George Bernard Shaw
Think about recent conversations you’ve had. Are you sure your intended message got through?
What can you do to improve your communication?
