Record your best ideas, insights and events for 2017 in a Year of the Rooster Notebook.  This handsome red notebook is great as a gift to self, or someone special in celebration of the Lunar New Year.  They are available in large and pocket sizes.

You can purchase them online at Paper Bistro.

The rooster design was created by Jane Labanz, a calligrapher and artist based in New York City.  Jane’s formal training as a concert pianist, vocalist and dancer is the essence of her composition and hallmark of her style.  Her disciplined background, coupled with the element of musicality that enhances her work, makes her delightfully playful strokes undulate and dance. “I dance on paper.  I make music with pen strokes,” she says.

While the Year of the Rooster notebooks are being introduced, Jane is performing the role of “Eileen” in a production of 64 Irving Berlin songs, entitled I Love a Piano at Milwaukee Rep.  “I do one script during the day, and a different kind of script at night,” she says.

As a member of Screen Actor’s Guild (SAG), Actor’s Equity Association (AEA) and American Guild of Variety Artists (AGVA) Jane provides film, televisions, theatrical, and advertising production companies with expressive live on-camera writing and calligraphic props.

Jane’s calligraphy company is A Delicate Pen.

  1. I received a Rooster notebook for free from Quo Vadis and I want to say how much I appreciate it. I am a modified bullet journaler and the modification means I don’t keep an index. What that really means is once I turn a couple of pages on a incomplete task, I forget about it. I have gone through my entire current bullet journal and copied all of the undone tasks to the Rooster. I have them all in one place and now I don’t have an excuse for forgetting things I need/want to do. It’s small and easily fits into my purse, so I can keep it with me.

Oh, and another thing, I raise chickens for fun, so the Rooster notebook fits me perfectly.
