October review: Lessons learned

Post Comment

Autumn at Humber River

This year we are doing themed reviews every month. Each month will have a different theme, to get you to think more deeply about how you spent your time during the previous month. If you are doing our Page Per Day Challenge, it can be a topic for your daily writing. If you journal, these could be some journaling prompts for you.

This month we are thinking about what lessons we have learned over the past month. This doesn’t mean to focus on what went wrong or what mistakes you made. It’s to think about what went right, what could have gone better, and how you might do things differently the next time.

Look back through your journal and/ or planner over the past month and think of these questions:

What lessons did you learn at work or school this month? What went right, and what could you have done better? If confronted with the same situation in the future, how might you do things differently?

What lessons did you learn in your relationships? What did you learn about communicating? Is there a better way to communicate with the important people in your life?

What lessons did you learn about yourself? What worked for you this month, and what didn’t? How can you adjust your actions to be more effective in the coming months?

Themed month reviews are on the last Thursday of every month. You can see all the Month Review posts here, and in the sidebar under the pull-down menu under Month Review.
