September review: Celebrate success!

Mary Flood, the female winner crosses the finish line.

This year we are doing themed reviews every month. Each month will have a different theme, to get you to think more deeply about how you spent your time during the previous month. If you are doing our Page Per Day Challenge, it can be a topic for your daily writing. If you journal, these could be some journaling prompts for you.

In this month’s review we are focusing on celebrating success! Too often we focus on where we fell short, what we didn’t get finished or what we could have done better. This month, let’s pat ourselves on the back and recognize what we did well!

Last month’s review theme was Transitions, where we thought about what had changed over the course of the month and what new situations we were adjusting to. Now think about how you have been successful in those transitions: have you settled into school, work, new roles and/ or responsibilities?

Think about any issues you overcame this month. What was difficult? How did you get through it? Congratulate yourself on your hard work.

Think about specific successes in all areas of your life: school/ work, family/ social, exercise/ health, personal/ emotional. Write lists of your achievements so you can look at them periodically to remind yourself of what you have accomplished and how far you have come. Well done!!

Now think about what you can do to set yourself up for success in the coming month. Write these in your planner to keep you on track all month long.

Themed month reviews are on the last Thursday of every month. You can see all the Month Review posts here, and in the sidebar under the pull-down menu under Month Review.
