August review: Transitions

Post Comment

Goodbye Summer 2011

This year we are doing themed reviews every month. Each month will have a different theme, to get you to think more deeply about how you spent your time during the previous month. If you are doing our Page Per Day Challenge, it can be a topic for your daily writing. If you journal, these could be some journaling prompts for you.

Transitions was a topic I touched on in the Daily Journaling Prompts for August. August is back-to-school time for many people. Students, and parents of kids in school, have started a new school year and suddenly everything is different than it was a few weeks ago. Even if school is no longer a part of your life, summer is drawing to a close and with it come the changes associated with this time of year.

Look back through your journal and/ or planner over the past month and think of these questions:

What has changed this month? Describe your life at the beginning of this month, and describe your life now. What is different? What is new? What has stayed the same? Make a list of the positive changes that have happened this month.

What does this quote mean to you? What changes have happened this month that are good/ positive, but you are a little sad to leave behind the old ways?

Themed month reviews are on the last Thursday of every month. You can see all the Month Review posts here, and in the sidebar under the pull-down menu under Month Review.
