It’s not uncommon to talk about a narrative arc, but have you ever tried to plot one?

Graphic designer Maya Eilam did recently after researching author Kurt Vonnegut’s rejected master’s thesis, which posited, in her words, “that a story’s main character has ups and downs that can be graphed to reveal the story’s shape.”

The result is the best kind of infographic: interesting, smart, funny, and suggestive of further thought.
