This week, I dreamed about going places — or at least, looking at pictures of places I’m unlikely to go in person.
- There are seven churches in Antarctica, including one whose walls are made of ice, and one made from a shipping container! Have you ever prayed inside a shipping container? (Actually, I can’t imagine too many scenarios in which you’d be inside a shipping container and not start praying. These lovely homes excepted.)
- Elsewhere in the far-flung world lies Ani, a Turkish-Armenian ghost town once home to more than 100,000 people, and now crumbling amidst the wildflowers.
- In a darker journey, this Vanity Fair piece tells the story of the Nazi-stolen artworks that turned up a few years ago in Munich.
