Here’s New York’s answer to that lovely Paris project that compared cityscapes circa 1900 to their contemporary counterparts… the “before” pictures were taken at various dates in the late 19th and early 20th centuries; the “after” pictures were taken in 2013.

As before, you can visit the site to play around with a digital slider that reveals more or less of each version and read about the locations. I can’t figure out how to embed the images side by side, but above is one of my favorite comparisons — Bryant Park circa 1922 and now. If you visit the site, you’ll see what’s different along each part of the frame.
